2、ofmostconcerninthefield.Rockboltsperfmanceiscurrentlyassessedbypullouttquewrenchtests.Thesemethodsaredestructiveinaccuratecannotprovidealltherequiredinfmation.Consequentlysomeresearchisdirectedtonondestructivetestingmeth
3、ods.Howeverduetothecomplexgroundconditionstheloadingmechanismofrockboltsitisstillachallengetomonittherockboltperfmanceinsituquantitativelyaccurately.Thetensiondistributionalongaboltfvarioustypesofboltsisoftennotwellunder
4、stood.Theconditionofthesurroundingrockmassthevaryingfieldstressesfurthercomplicatetheproblem.Thisarticlewillthoughlyanalyzemobilizationoftheanchingfcedistributionofthebolttensionfmechanicallyanchedgroutedpretensionedunte
5、nsionedrockbolts.Thetermsloadbearingcapacityanchagequalityofrockboltswillbeclarified.Theeffectsofgroundmovementwillalsobeexaminedwithaninsightintothefuturedirectionfrockbolttestingmoniting.Keywds:rockbolttensionnondestru

8、eldtheanchagequalitytheloadingstatustheboltintegrityaremostconcerned.Atpresentthecommonpracticeofassessinganchagequalityisbypullouttest(Choquet1991)sometimesbytquewrenchtest(Seeber1992).Bothmethodshavelimitedcapabilityca
9、nnotprovidealltheneededinfmation.Theyaretimeconsumingdestructiveinaccurate.Otherresearchers(Thurner1988Hiraoetal2001BeardLowe2003)havebeentryingtousenondestructivetesttechniquetomonitrockboltsinthefield.Howeverduetotheco
10、mplexgroundconditionstheloadingmechanisminarockboltsystemthetechnologycannotbeapplieddirectly.Itisstillachallengetomonittherockboltperfmancequantitativelyaccurately.Firstofallmobilizationoftheanchingfcedistributionoftheb
11、olttensionfvarioustypesofrockboltsarenotwellunderstood.TheconditionoftheFailureofaboltcanbeavoidedbyinglargerdiameterboltsinstallingmebolts.Ffullygroutedboltstheanchagecapacityincreaseswiththelengthofthegroutedsegmentcan
12、exceedtheboltbreakingfce.Failureofagroutedboltmaynotleadtothecompletefailureoftherockboltsystem.3.DeterminationofanchagestrengthcapacityTheanchagestrengthofagroutedboltdependsonthegroutmaterialthegroutingquality.Assumeth
