3、roominmiddleschoolsnamelythecontentandthewaysofcultureteaching.Itisalsoconcernedwiththecontributionandincorporationoftheteachingofcultureintotheforeignlanguageclassroom.Morespecificallysomeconsiderationwillbegiventothewh
4、yandhowofteachingculture.Itwillbedemonstratedthatteachingaforeignlanguageisnottantamounttogivingahomilyonsyntacticstructuresorlearningnewvocabularyandexpressionsbutmainlyincorporatesorshouldincorporatesomeculturalelement
5、swhichareintertwinedwithlanguageitself.Furthermoreanatemptwillbemadetoincorporatecultureintotheclassroombymeansofconsideringsometechniquesandmethodscurrentlyused.Themainpremiseofthepaperisthatefectivecommunicationismoret
6、hanamateroflanguageproficiencyandthatapartfromenhancingandenrichingcommunicativecompetenceculturalcompetencecanalsoleadtoempathyandrespecttowarddiferentculturesaswellaspromoteobjectivityandculturalperspicacity.Towardsthe
7、syllabusculturalawarenessteachersplayaveryimportantroleinintegratingcultureintoforeignlanguageteachingclassroom.ThisthesisconsistsofsevenchaptersaddressingthetopicofhowtointegratecultureintoELTwithafocusonproblemsandsolu
8、tions.ChapterIisanintroductionwhichstatesthegeneralsituationofcultureteachinginELTinChinathemotivationofthestudyandthethemeandorganizationofthethesis.ChapterIIbrieflysurveyssomedefinitionsofcultureanddiscussestherelation
