2、t of optical industry, which can be used as the lenses of glasses or cameras and so on. Compared with inorganic optical materials, optical polymers have the advantages of light weight, good transparency, impact-resistanc

3、e, processability. But the refractive indexes of the ordinary polymers are lower, that has restricted their applications. Therefore, it is of great importance to fabricate new kinds of optical polymers with higher refrac

4、tive index. In this paper, nano-TiO2 particles were fabricated in-situed in the PMMA matrix through the through the sol-gel process of titanium butoxide. The organic phase and the inorganic phase were compatible because

5、there were covalent bonds Si-O-Ti between two phase, which formed through the co-hydrolysis of titanium butoxide and coupling agent 3-(Methacryloyloxy) propyltrimethoxysilane (MSMA). TEM images shown that the prepared fi

6、lms were homogeneous, the TiO2 particles of 5nm dispersed in the polymer matrix uniformly. And the refractive index of the films was improved. According to molecule design principle, the S element has higher mole refract

7、ive index. Based on the results in literature, sulfur-containing monomer 2, 2’-mercaptoethylsulfide dimethacrylate (MESDMA) was prepared. Then the copolymer of MMA, MESDMA and MSMA was used as the matrix of the hybrid ma

8、terials. The refractive index and the film-forming ability of the films were both improved, at the same time, the dispersity and the size of TiO2 particles were not effected by the introduction of the monomer. Keywords:
