2、Grape leafhopper, Erythroneura apicalis (Nawa), is a new serious insect pest of grape in Turpan, and become an important limiting factor of the production of grape. In present, the biology, ecology, life cycle, natural
3、 enemy and integrated control of the grape leafhopper were been studied. 1. The biology study revealed that the adult of the grape leafhopper possessed very strong survivability. It can survive for over 45 days. The f
4、emale adult can lay 60.33 eggs at most. The nymph has 5 instars, and the development duration of each instar is affected by temperature very much. The suitable temperature for its development is between 22 and 28℃,and
5、 the later is the optimum. The start temperature of development is 5.18±2.1℃,and the effective accumulated temperature is 307.14. 2. There are four generations of grape leafhopper in Turpan in a year, while only
6、3 generations in inner provinces. The fourth generation is the overwintering one. In the middle of May, the hatch of the eggs of the overwintering reaches the peak, and become the adult of the first generation. The da
7、mage peak appears during the middle of August. According to the rule of occurrence, from the middle to the later of May is suggested to be the optimum time for the control of the grape leafhopper. 3. There are very fe
8、w natural enemies were found in the field, which may be one of the important reason for the severe occurrence of this pest. 4. The yellow sticky traps is quite effective in trapping the adults of overwintering generat
9、ion. It can be used not only in the management of the pest, but also in its monitoring and forecast. The application of the yellow sticky traps should started from the later of April and hang on the first or second iro
10、n wire near the root. A total of 20 to 30 traps (made by Jiaduo Compay) per 667 m2 is much effective. 5. By using the field tests,five insecticides that showed high efficacy to grape leafhopper were selected and reco
11、mmended to be used for the control of the pest ,including imidacloprid (10%WP), thiamethoxan (25%WG), acetamiprid (3%EC), Pyrethrin(5%EC) and azadirachtin (0.3% EC). To avoid the development of insecticide resistance ,
12、 each of the five insecticide can be used only once per growth season. 6. The susceptible toxicity baselines of imidacloprid and acetamiprid to the grape leafhopper were established, and the IPM strategies for the gra
13、pe leafhopper were suggested. 7. The paper summarized a set of techniques for the integrated control of leafhopper (Erythroneora apicalis). The main points are as the following: the agricultural cultivation and field
14、management are the basic means, combined with physical control techniques as well as assisted with high efficient and lower toxicity biological agents and chemical insecticides. To catch the key period for the control
