11、erican and Chinese culture. The influences are introduced in many aspects, including movie, movie industry, nutrition, body-building, martial arts and philosophy. Bruce Lee has made great contribution to the improvement

13、> 一代武術(shù)宗師李小龍,革命性地推動了世界武術(shù)和功夫電影的發(fā)展。本文通過李小龍的不朽貢獻(xiàn),揭示了李小龍對中美兩國文化的影響。這種影響力是通過他對電影、電影工業(yè)、營養(yǎng)學(xué)、健身、武術(shù)、哲學(xué)等方面的深刻改變所展示出來的。李小龍通過個人的成功提升了中國人在世界上的良好形象,同時也讓所有華人和黃種人形象得到提升,今天,世界上仍然有成百上千萬的人被他不斷激勵著,他是當(dāng)之無愧的二十世紀(jì)對中美流行文化最具影響力的中國人之一。</p>

15、merica invaded China by forces together with other countries, which is the first contact of China with the foreigners formally and deeply. After that, the Qing Dynasty singed many treaties with America. China suffered a
16、lot from these unfair treaties. Stupid and conservative, Chinese people were looked down by America then. At that time, Chinese people only know feudalism. They did not know modern technology and popular culture. In most
17、 American’s eyes, Chinese people a</p><p> Before Bruce Lee set his iconic image into the hearts and minds of the American people, the general public had a different view of what an Asian person looked like
18、d and acted like. The most classic example of this would have to be the portrayal of Mr.Yunioshi in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Mickey Rooney was the white actor who dressed up as the “typical” Asian with protruding buck tee
19、th, squinty eyes, and large framed glasses. He acted as Americans believed most Asians acted in that they were dumb a</p><p> II. Major Contributions of Bruce Lee</p><p> Bruce Lee (born Lee J
20、un-fan; November27, 1940 –July 20, 1973) was a Chinese American Hong Kong actor, martial arts instructor, philosopher, film director, film producer, screenwriter, and founder of the Jeet Kune Do martial arts movemen
21、t. He is widely considered by many commentators, critics, media and other martial artists to be the most influential martial artist of the 20th century, and one of the biggest pop culture icons. He is often credited with
22、 changing the way Asians were presented in A</p><p> Lee was born in San Francisco to parents of Hong Kong heritage but was raised in Hong Kong until his late teens. Lee returned to the United States at the
23、 age of 18 to claim his U.S. citizenship and receive his higher education. It was during this time that he began teaching martial arts, which soon led to film and television roles.</p><p> His Hong Kong and
24、 Hollywood-produced films elevated the traditional Hong Kong martial arts film to a new level of popularity and acclaim, and sparked a major surge of interest in Chinese martial arts in the West in the 1970s. The directi
25、on and tone of his films changed and influenced martial arts and martial arts films in Hong Kong and the rest of the world, as well. He is noted for his roles in five feature-length films: Lo Wei’s The Big Boss (1971) an
26、d Fist of Fury (1972); Way of the Dragon (1</p><p> Lee became an iconic figure known throughout the world, particularly among the Chinese, as he portrayed Chinese nationalism in his films. He initially tra
27、ined in Wing Chun, but he later rejected well-defined martial art styles, favoring instead the use of techniques from various sources, in the spirit of his personal martial arts philosophy, which he dubbed Jeet Kune Do (
28、The Way of the Intercepting Fist).</p><p> III. Influence of Bruce Lee on Chinese and American Cultures</p><p> It is Bruce Lee who created Jeet Kune Do and introduced the word Kong Fu into En
29、glish vocabulary. However, these are not the whole of his contributions to Chinese and American cultures. He has influenced Chinese and American cultures in many other aspects, such as movie, fitness, Martial Arts and ph
30、ilosophy. </p><p> 3.1 Influence on Movie </p><p> There is on denying the fact that Bruce Lee has greatly influenced American and Chinese movie culture. Through Kong Fu movies, he became the
31、first spreader of Chinese Kong Fu and propelled a revolution in Chinese and American movies.</p><p> 3.1.1 Influence on Kong Fu movie</p><p> Martial Arts was a genre of movies that made its a
32、ppearance in America only when Bruce Lee took the stage. Before his time, there weren’t many Asian Americans influencing the film industry to make martial arts a major genre (Martial Artist and Movie Star Bruce Lee). Thi
33、s was primarily due to the fact that not many had his type of stature and popularity in society. This popularity existed only due to Lee’s attempt to show Americans what he was capable of through the creation of three fi
34、lms in Chi</p><p> 3.1.2 Influence on movie industry</p><p> A peculiar quality about Bruce Lee was that he was a perfectionist. With this type of characteristic, it was no surprise that he di
35、d not only act in movies but also helped write the script, direct the actors, and choreograph the fight scenes (The Game of Death). Bruce Lee wanted a person to understand the meaning and ideology that was being implied
36、through the movie. He put his own touch to his movies so that the violence that took place was for a justified cause and that his views were portraye</p><p> Something seen quite often in movies nowadays is
37、 the use of special effects to appeal to the audience. This was not the case for Bruce Lee who relied on pure skill and camera angles to make his fight scenes look real (Lee, Linda/Enter the Dragon/Game of Death). Withou
38、t the use of special effects or stunt doubles, everything seemed to be more creditable in terms of realism. He also found it to be more of a satisfaction to have something authentic rather than making something with the
39、use of techn</p><p> 3.2 Influence on Fitness</p><p> Lee was renowned for his physical fitness and vigorous, dedicated fitness regimen to become as strong as he possibly could. His way of kee
40、ping fit influences large amount of Chinese and American people.</p><p> 3.2.1 Influence on nutrition</p><p> According to Linda Lee Cadwell, soon after he moved to the United States, Lee star
41、ted to take nutrition seriously and developed an interest in healthy foods, high-protein drinks and vitamin and mineral supplements. He later concluded that in order to achieve a high-performance body, one could not fuel
42、 it with a diet of junk food, and with “the wrong fuel”, one’s body would perform sluggishly or sloppily. Lee also avoided baked goods and refined flour, describing them as providing calories which </p><p>
43、 Lee consumed green vegetables and fruit every day. He always preferred to eat Chinese or other Asian food because he loved the variety that it had. Some of Lee’s favorite Chinese dishes were beef in oyster sauce, tofu a
44、nd steak and liver. He also became a heavy advocate of dietary supplements, including Vitamin C, Lecithin granules, bee pollen, Shilajit, Vitamin E, rose hips (liquid form), wheat germ oil, Acerola – C and B-Folia.
45、</p><p> Lee disliked dairy food although he felt that for building muscle he must consume milk. As a result he only ate dairy as part of cereals and protein drinks, usually using powdered milk instead of f
46、resh milk. Lee’s diet included protein drinks; he always tried to consume one or two daily, but discontinued drinking them later on in his life. They typically included non-instant powdered milk which is reported to have
47、 a higher concentration of calcium than other forms of powdered milk, eggs, wheat g</p><p> According to Lee, the size of portions and number of meals were just as important. He would usually consume four o
48、r five smaller meals a day rather than a couple of large meals, and would boost his metabolism by eating small healthy snacks such as fruits throughout the day. Fruit and vegetables provided him with the richest source o
49、f carbohydrates; he was particularly keen on carrots which would make up one half of the contents of the drink, with the remaining being split between the other fruit</p><p> Lee often consumed a drink of r
50、oyal jelly and ginseng as they contain B-complex vitamins, including a high concentration of vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), acetylcholine, hormones, and eighteen amino acids which allow for a
51、quick energy boost. In traditional Chinese medicine, ginseng is also said to improve circulation, increase blood supply, and allow quicker recovery times after exhaustion and stimulating the body. In addition, Lee regula
52、rly drank black tea, often wi</p><p> Lee devoted his entire life to perfecting his techniques and constantly striving to be better. With this mindset, it was no surprise that Lee exercised as if it were a
53、job. He struggled to carve a body that would maintain his speed and strength. His daily workout routine consisted of cardio, core, and weight training through the use of his home made equipment. Bruce was well known for
54、his sculpted abs and “treetop” back. The way in which Bruce created his body was no doubt through an extensive w</p><p> 3.2.2 The influence on body-building</p><p> Lee introduced something n
55、ew to the bodybuilding society. Instead of being massive and built, he was rather defined and slim. He revolutionized body building in the fact that he introduced the idea of being more defined as being more powerful. Wh
56、en people saw Lee’s physique in movies, they attempted to replicate what he had created (How Bruce Lee Changed the World). Thus people see how Lee influenced the mindset of the current public in that he showed that stren
57、gth can come from definition rathe</p><p> 3.3 Influence on Mixed Martial Arts</p><p> Even today, one can see that Bruce Lee’s philosophies have influenced the way in which competitive fighti
58、ng goes down. Mixed Martial Arts has been heavily influenced by the principles of cross-training in Jet Kun Do and even Dana White, founder of the Ultimate Fight Championship in which MMA is regularly used, considers Bru
59、ce Lee to be the founder of MMA (How Bruce Lee Changed the World). This further goes to show that Bruce Lee was and still is considered an icon of pop culture in the United St</p><p> 3.4 Influence on Philo
60、sophy</p><p> Lee is best known as a martial artist, but he also studied drama and philosophy while being a student at the University of Washington. He was well-read and had an extensive library. His own bo
61、oks on martial arts and fighting philosophy are known for their philosophical assertions, both inside and outside of martial arts circles. His eclectic philosophy often mirrored his fighting beliefs, though he was quick
62、to claim that his martial arts were solely a metaphor for such teachings. He believed th</p><p> The following quotations reflect his fighting philosophy.</p><p> “Be formless... shapeless, li
