5、ofightwithoutthem.OnlythreeBritishdivisionstheirequivalentwereabletostinthelinewiththeirFrenchcomrades.Theyhavesufferedseverelybuttheyhavefoughtwell.WesenteverymanwecouldtoFranceasfastaswecouldreequiptranspttheirfmations

6、.Iamnotrecitingthesefactsfthepurposeofrecrimination.ThatIjudgetobeutterlyfutileevenharmful.Wecannotaffdit.IrecitethemindertoexplainwhyitwaswedidnothaveaswecouldhavehadbetweentwelvefourteenBritishdivisionsfightinginthelin

7、einthisgreatbattleinsteadofonlythree.NowIputallthisaside.Iputitontheshelffromwhichthehistianswhentheyhavetimewilltheirdocumentstotelltheirsties.Wehavetothinkofthefuturenotofthepast.Thisalsoappliesinasmallwaytoourownaffai
