3、minationlevel.Basedontheevaluationsmadeby293occupantsoftheIEQofofficesinHongKongempiricalexpressionshavebeenproposedtoapproximateanoverallIEQacceptanceofanofficeenvironmentatcertainoperativetemperature(To)carbondioxideco
4、ncentration(CO2)equivalentnoiselevel(Leq)illuminationlevel(lux).TheoverallIEQacceptanceiscalculatedfromamultivariatelogisticregressionmodel.Arangeofacceptanceintypicalofficeenvironmentalconditionsitsdependenceonthefourpa
5、rametersstatedabovearedeterminedfdesignconditions.TheproposedoverallIEQacceptancecanbeusedasaquantitativeassessmentcriterionfanofficeenvironmentsimilarenvironmentwhereanoccupant’sevaluationisexpected.r2007ElsevierLtd.All

8、smindrespondingtothesensestothesefacts[1–4].Thisstateofmindisanintricateresponsetotheindoenvironmentalfactgroupsincludingphysicalenvironmentsustainedbythebuildingitsservicessystemindividualphysiologicalconditionssuchashe
9、althsocialrelationsfinancialstateetc.Studiesshowedthatanoccupant’sacceptanceofanenvironmentdependedonanumberofenvironmentalparameters[5].Fourbasiccomponentsnamelythermalcomftindoairqualityauralvisualcomftwereidentifiedfd
10、etermininganacceptableIEQ.Conventionalstudiesonindoenvironmentaddresseachofthemseparately.Theyarestilladdressedindependentlybydesignersfmanyofficedesigns.Merecentlytheequivalenceofthediscomftcausedbydifferentphysicalqual
11、itieshasbeenconsidered[6–8].Discomftscausedbyindoairpollutionthermalloadnoisewereinvestigated.Itwasreptedthatatanoperativetemperaturebetween23291CeachdegreeCelsiuschangewouldassociatethesameeffectonhumancomftwithachangei
12、nperceivedairqualityof2.4decipolachangeinnoiselevelof3.9dB[7].Flevelsofperceivedairqualityupto10decipolaunitchangehadthesameeffectonhumancomftasachangeinnoiselevelof1.2dB[6].Theequivalenceofacousticsensationtothethermalo
13、newasproposedfshttermexposurethateachdegreeCelsiuschangeintemperaturehadthesameeffectof2.6dBA[8].Wkplacevariablesinducingthelargestnumberofhealthsymptomscomftodourconcernswereinvestigatedbymultivariateregressionanalysis[
