12、rom a working class background, and the Morses is a bourgeois family, he senses that a relationship between them would be impossible until he reaches their level of wealth and perceived cultural refinement. So he works a

14、e refused while those spiritless things are always being published. Martin comes across Brissenden---- a socialist and literature genius who is highly critical of the society. Once a time, they participated a socialists

15、assemble and were mistakenly reported as the leader of anarchy. Consequently, they were isolated and besieged, and for Ruth, she broke up with Martin. Brissenden is dead. With the loss of Ruth and Brissenden, Marti

16、n falls into desperate despair. Nonetheless, it is at this very moment when Martin is at end of his rope that his book was published, which makes him rich and famous overnight. Then everyone change their attitudes toward
