3、Joy Luck Club in America. As a female Chinese-American writer, Amy Tan successfully edged herself into American mainstream culture after Kingston and since then, American publishers started paying much more attention to

4、Chinese American writers and more of their works entered into mainstream society which set off a boom of Chinese American literature. Her narrative skills were also highly praised and she herself was honored as a master

5、story-telling (The Joy Luck Club.2006), and her novel is dazzling (The Joy Luck Club.2006). One of the reasons that The Joy Luck Club acquires a large readership is that it is narrated by those women whose suffering is s

6、imilar to the Chinese women in Anerica. By applying the feminist narratology, eight women were active in papers and gained voice of authority. (Susan Lanser.1992:264)Feminist narratology integrates the analyses of form w

7、ith the study of ideology, and therefore remedies the weakness of feminist literary criticism and structuralism narratology. In a classical work Fictions of Authority: Women Writers and Narrative Voice, Susan S. Lanser h

8、as proposed three types of narrative voices to indicate that for women writers, to balance the relation between different groups of readers, voice of authority should be established in three ways, authorial voice, person

9、al voice and communal voice. Because the female Chinese-American writers were suppressed by male dominance, by using voice cleverly, women writers will be able to make her female characters claim their social positions a
