3、 Field:The history of Chinese minorities Grade:2005 Abstract Since the 1990s, the living ways and values of Zhuang people have undergone tremendous changes. The original foundation for Zhuang folk songs has almost disa

4、ppeared. The Nanning International Folk Song Art Festival (NIFSAF) is an urbanized deformation of Zhuang Song Fair. Its mission is protecting and developing Zhuang folk songs in this new era. The succe

5、sses or failures, gains or losses about NIFSAF reflect the present situation of the Zhuang folk songs. Therefore, an in-depth study about NIFSAF is necessary. This research not only gives some practical suggestion

6、s to the NIFSAF, but also finds new path for handing down Zhuang Song Fair. At first, this paper describes the origins of NIFSAF. Zhuang folk songs have their own natural environment and cultural heritage. Th

7、is paper aggregates the evolutional tracks of Zhuang Song Fair and shows its tenacious vitality by displaying its bumpy way. Basing on the long tradition of Zhuang Song Fair, the Guangxi government department has organiz

8、ed the “March Song Festival“, and then the “Guangxi Folk Song Festival“, and finally the “Nanning International Folk Song Art Festival“. Second, the paper makes a comprehensive analysis of NIFSAF. Since 1999,

9、nine years have passed. Its gains and losses have reflected on all aspects. This paper makes a comparison from vertical angle (with the traditional Folk Song Fair, Wu Ming March Song Festival) and horizontal angle
