2、veries、 discoveies for a second time and drillings are riching the data archaeology which belongs to this area and Houjiayao site which was excavated for the fifth time is one of them.By reviewing the process of studying

3、 paleolith、summarying all related materials about Houjiayao site,using Theoretical Archaeology and related knowledges, this thesis makes a preliminary report on the study of the newly findings in Houjiayao site, includin

4、g the stratum where the excavated findings were discoveried and the vertical distribution of cultural relics、many stone artifacts、bone products and fossils.We get plenty of detailed data about this site.one hand ,sorting

5、 the stone and summarying the shills which were used to make tools in old times ,on the other hand ,making a discussion on the era of Houjiayao site by comparing with mang sites which are located in this area or the ages

6、 are yonger or older than this site. The study indicates that the excavated finds from Houjiayao site come from Third level terrace accumulation of Li Yigou，which is one of the branches of Sanggan river.This issue is dif

7、ferene fom old conclusion that the finds come from Nihewan layer. Cultural layer is thicker in this site and cultural relics is rich .it belongs to situ buried type in principle. Houjiayao site belongs to the early Pleis

8、tocene geological age, or later . The Houjiayao site which was excavated for the fifth time ,richs the data archaeology in Nihewan Basin, and provides plenty of new data about the oldest age of the Nihewan layer for peop
