11、2–20042004–2006respectively.ThesedatawereinterlinkedwithdataonoutwardFDIfromthebalanceofpaymentsstatisticsoftheBankofEstoniawithfinancialdatafromtheEstonianBusinessRegister.FtheanalysiswecombinedtheCDMusedinseveralinnova

12、tionstudieswithapropensityscematchingapproach.Ourmainconclusionsareasfollows.Intermsofinnovationexpendituretheprobabilityofexpenditureoninnovationwassignificantlyhigherffeignownedcompanies(differentlytotheresultsofDachse

13、tal.2008Johanssonetal.2008)althoughthelevelofinnovationexpenditureisonlyhigheramongthefeignownedoutwardinvestsafterotherdeterminantsoftheexpenditurelevelsarecontrolledfwhilefdomesticmultinationalsfeigncompanieswithoutout
