1、A leader is someone who can influence others and who has managerial authority in a group or organization working to meet each challenge and achieve each gool. The leaders will achieve these goals by using different leade
2、rship styles. The leader's job is not to solve every problem alone, but to inspire those he or she leads to solve the problems. The research explores the effects of trarsactional leadership, transformational leadership,
3、abusive leadership and paternalistic leadership on employee work related behaviours. Based on an depth comparative literature review analysis of different types of leadership styles coupled with the use of a sampling met
4、hod using n 6 point Likert scale Multifactor Leadership questionnaire, Sixty respondents were asked to respond to the questionnaire on how the leadership style of the leader influenced their work related behaviours. The
5、results showed that transformational leadership style promotes more employees job performance, organisational commitment, job satisfaction and less turnover intentions than transactional leadership style. It was also fou
6、nd that paternalistic leadership style promotes more employees' job performance, organisational commitment, job satisfaction and less turnover intenions than abusive leadership style. The paper also found that there we
7、re many other contextual factors such as, fear of not finding another job if they left the current job, relationship the employee had with the leader would affect how employees will be influenced by a given leadership s
8、tyle. The paper tested respondents.rom different backgrounds and with different perspective on leadership style. Asn result, the paper adds to the body of knowledge on how people of different backgrounds respond to diff
