2、which has been widely used in fields such as transportation, energy, industry, civil construction and water conservancy, can cause some negative effects on the environment. Because of the outstanding environmental issues

3、 and calls for an environmentally-friendly society, evaluations of the impact of building materials on the environment are becoming more and more important. Environmental impact evaluation is an integral part of the feas

4、ibility study of a project. As an engineering project is irreversible, a lot of preparatory work has to be done to confirm the feasibility of the project, reduce mistakes in decision making and avoid significant losses,

5、so as to ensure the normal running of the project. In light of the real condition of the metal wire drawing project, and by carrying out on-the-spot investigation and information collection, the author of this thesis stu

6、died the water environment, acoustic environment, atmospheric environment, social and economic environment and biological environment of the region where the project will be settled. By applying the principle theories on

7、 project feasibility study and a series of research methods for environmental impact evaluation including the environmental impact identification method, environmental impact forecasting method and analytic induction, th

8、e author evaluated the environmental impact during the construction and operational periods of the metal wire drawing project. The research shows that, with a variety of advanced technologies, clean-production standards,

9、 and pollution management and biological protection measures which can keep the environmental impact of the project within an acceptable range, the project is feasible in respect of the environmental protection. By evalu

10、ating the environmental impact of a new material project, the author of this thesis hoped to establish an evaluation model so as to provide a scientific basis for the environmental impact evaluation as part of a project

11、feasibility study, as well as a reference for future similar projects. The research results of this thesis can be used as a reference for environmental impact evaluation of a new material project. Keywords: Metal Wire D
