2、-quan Supervisor: Du Ye-qin Abstract Objective: To evaluate the methodological quality of the randomized controlled trials (RCT) literatures on cancer pain with Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the effectiveness and

3、safety of the treatment for cancer pain with TCM, and analysis the law of Chinese herbals used in the included studies, with the theory and method of Evidence-based medicine (EBM) in recent years. Methods: The Cochrane l

4、ibrary, MEDLINE, CBM, CNKI, VIP, WanFang were searched electronically. Relevant journals, academic conference proceedings and the references lists of identified documents were also searched by hand. Randomized or quasi-r

5、andomized controlled clinical trials of TCM therapies for cancer pain were selected for this study. The quality of included studies was assessed according to the criteria recommended by the Cochrane Handbook for systemat

6、ic Reviews of interventions and meta-analyses were performed for homogeneous studies using The Cochrane collaboration’s Review manager 4.2.2 software. Chinese herbals used in the included studies given concrete prescript

7、ion were statistically analyzed. Results: 145 papers of clinical RCTs on Chinese medical herbals in the treatment of cancer pain were published on 81 kinds of journals. The quality of 3 studies, 2 studies and another 140

8、 studies was graded A, B, C(low) respectively. Meta -analyses showed that TCM is superior to xiaoyantong and amount to qumaduo in total effective rate, early potency and prolonged action. In 145 literatures, 92 compound

9、prescriptions were analyzed. Among them, 40 prescriptions were internal use including 101 drugs, 210 frequencies; and 52 prescriptions were external use including 110 drugs, 439 frequencies. Conclusion: 1. At present, th
