4、ionmodelstherefehavebeensubjecttoseverecriticismftheirsimplicitytheapriiassumptionswhichhavetobemade.Mostcriticismswereofaneconometricnature(startingfromcutt1950)howevertheeticaldoubtshavebeenexpressedaswell.Thisresulted

6、noftheexptsbetweencompetingcountriesontheirrelativeexptperfmance.NeverthelessTyszynski(1951)didseparatetheimpactofthecompositionofexptscompetitivenessonexptperfmanceothersfollowedbutthepreciserelationshipbetweenthecompos

7、itionofexptscompetitivenessremainedunclear.ThemajcontributiontothisissuehasbeenmadebyOoms(1967)butreceivedlittleattention.Alsohardlyanyattentionhasbeengiventothepolicyimplicationsofthemodels.countriesofdestination.A“indi
