3、o shiqi,as one of Manchu emperor's favourite members of the Imperial Academy,booked a series of custom paintings in the ages without any spinous problems in his career.Those paintings were mostly delineating his home

4、land.In the poetry collection named after his granted residence:yuanxi,Gao Shiqi constantly mentioned jiangcun thatched cottage:a small manor owned by his ancestor in Yaojiang.Till the year 1688, Gao Shiqi had held the p

5、ainting activity with jiangcun thatched cottage method at least 5 times.After the jiangcun thatched cottage painting was finished, Gao often made painting preface and invited his literati friends to write poetry as posts

6、cript. As time passes, each jiangcun thatched cottage painting revealed Gao’s mentality and purpose of the very period.The image of jiangcun thatched cottage in Gao’s mind also altered continuously.This thesis tries to r

7、estore the original purpose of Gao’s booking activities and explore the changs of Gao’s life through analyse background of booking activities,content, preface and postscript. This thesis consists of four parts.The openin

8、g chapter is based on analysis of Gao’s life and social connections, tries to reveal booking homeland custom painting is a social phenomenon in early Qing Dynasty.Chapter 2 is focused on the first and second jiangcun tha

9、tched cottage painting. Through compare and analysis other homeland paintings booked by Gao,this chapter comes to the fact Gao was worried about his official carear and wanted to join withdrawers although there is no spi

10、nous problems in his career. Chapter 3 is based on analysis content, preface and postscript of the third and fourth jiangcun thatched cottage painting, exhibit inward transformation of Gao from the period with stable car

11、ee to his political turmoil time. Last part is conclusion of this thesis.this part summarizes the transition of jiangcun thatched cottage’s meaning endowed by Gao. Key words： Homeland painting, Gao Shiqi, Jiangcun Thatch
