3、sty adopted many preferential policies to encourage the southward migration and to promote the growth of population in these two districts. Because of the loss of the northern territory, the Jing Hu North Road at that t

4、ime is the main traffic artery of the southern east and southern west areas. This special location further enhanced the commercial status of E Zhou in the time of confrontation, the development of which brought much conv

5、enience for Jinghu North Road and Jingxi South Road to make preparation of necessary military equipments and supplies. What’s more, as a military defense zone, there existed a close connection between the acquisition of

6、the two Roads’ rations and the commercial activity of E Zhou. At the same time, the currency of Jinghu North Road and Jingxi South Road also reflected the characteristics of the economic development of the two Roads. In

7、order to prevent the flow of copper coins to Jin , the government of the Southern Song Dynasty laid down the regulation that people in the area of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River which near the border of Jin shou

8、ld use iron coins instead of copper coins. This article makes a research on the use of copper coins, iron coins and bank notes in the district of both Jinghu North Road and Jingxi South Road. The economic development of
