1、 西安音樂學院碩士論文 Ⅱ Abstract Abstract “The Theory of Harmony”,which is written in 1911 by Arnold Schoenberg , is a masterpiece about traditional harmony theory.It contains not only the philosophical and polemical aspects.

2、 This paper is focusing on the study of harmony theory and technic,trying to explore the characteristics of Schoenberg’s harmony theory.Different form the previous studies which is mostly concentrated in pure harmony the

3、ory,this paper aim to discuss the connection with harmony technic and concept,as well as compare the differences between Schoenberg’s and Sposobin’s harmony theory. The article is divided into three parts, the first part

4、 is the “harmony theory of Schoenberg“ and Sposobin’s Harmony Textbook incoming Chinese history as well as elaborate make two harmony textbook; the second part is about the diatonic chords, non-diatonic chords, modulati

5、on techniques, non-harmonic tones, the content of their own and their comparison research; The third part is about the two harmony textbook summarizes their different characteristics. Through deeply studying and analysi

6、s, four conclusions are as follow: firstly, chords can be freely connect if every voice has a good progress in Schoenberg's harmony theory , hardly limited by “function concept” ; secondly , The standard for the harm

7、onic evaluation of these connections is merely the root progression; thirdly, Schoenberg's harmony theory use non-diatonic chords which is cited by the church modes. Besides, quoting the non-diatonic chords of the re

8、lationship to the minor sub-dominant via developing the sub-dominant, which is greatly expanding a tone of harmony within the material;finally, different markers reflect different chord significance. The main features of

9、 these harmonies show that Schoenberg's harmony theory is a harmony system that is different from Sposobin’s Harmony theory.It is the traditional harmony theory and the further development of teaching materials, with
