2、oursesaretaughtbyfeignlanguagesstudents’secondlanguage.BilingualeducationwasprevalentintheUnitedStatesCanadaSingapeothercountries.Howeverduetothedifferentnationalconditionsthepurposesofbilingualeducationinvariouscountrie

3、salsovaried.Ingeneralthemodesofbilingualeducationcanbedividedintothreedominanttypestheyaretransitionalbilingualeducationmaintenancebilingualeducationimmersionbilingualeducation.FromwhichtheCanadianimmersionbilingualeduca

4、tionisthemostsuccessful.Thefinalgoalofbilingualeducationistoacquiresubjects’knowledgetoimprovetheirlanguageskills.Studentsareencouragedtouseasecondlanguagetocommunicatethesubjectcontentswithclassmatesteachersindertoconti

5、nuouslyimprovetheirlanguageskillscriticalthinkingability.Manystudieshaveshownthatbilingualchildrengenerallyhavebettersensitivityinlanguagecomprehensiontendtobemeflexibleinthinkingmodethanmonolingualchildren.Sincetheearly

6、1970stheUnitedStatesSwedenAustraliaFinlSpainSingapeothercountrieshavebegunaseriousofbilingualeducationresearchessuittotheirownnationalconditionsonthebasisofCanadiansuccessfulbilingualeducationresearchachievementstheobjec

7、tiveistofullydeveloplearnerslanguagelearningpotentialstomaketheirsecondlanguagebeusedasgoodastheirmothertonguetobetteradapttothewld’sdiversifieddevelopment.ThispaperismainlyfocusonthehisticalbackgroundofCanadaBilingualEd

8、ucation.FsearchingthishisticaligindeeplyspecificallywehavetotracebacktotheEuropeancolonialperiod.Thepaperisarrangedinfoursections.FirstfemostIwilldiscussthehisticalbackgroundofCanadiansocietyaswellasCanadianbilingualeduc

17、variedculturehisticallysoitisnowonderthatCanadaisatypicalmulticulturalsocietySecondlymulticultureasaconceptmeansmulticulturalismitisaculturaldevelopmenttheythatinfavofallethnicculturalgroupstorealizemutualrespectequality
