2、 circumstances, views on poems and his poetry, in order to know him and his works all round. The first chapter, study on his family ,determines which year he was born and find why he was dismissed from office. The famili

3、es of Wang are merchants from Huizhou to Yangzhou. Wang Maolin’s success on career and literature makes him have a very important position in the family. However, involved into the struggles between the North Party and t

4、he South Party , he lost his official job. About the year of his birthing , there are two views, 12th year and 13th year of the reign of Ming Emperor Chongzhen. The former is right. The second chapter, lists systematica

5、lly his communication in various circumstances. Wang Maolin is a magnanimous man. So he enjoyed extensive friendship. There are nearly thirty people who keeping close relationship with him and have significant impact on

6、 him. Of them, some saw his advantages and promoted him, others kept deep friendship with him. The third chapter, studys on his views on poems and the writing practice of his poetry. In Wang Maolin’s view, writing poems

7、should learn from the Song Poetry after the Tang Poetry. Consistent with this view, his works had learned from the Tang Poetry at first, then started to like the poet in Song Dynasty in his middle-aged. The forth chapter

8、, focuses on the thought and content of his poetry. Based on broad Source materials, his poetry own comprehensive and rich contents. In particular, these contents about exposing drawbacks of the society governed by Qing

9、 Emperor Kangxi and reflecting the literati’s experience in the feudal society are of the most value in thought. The fifth chapter, appreciates the artistic characteristics of his poetry. His poetry absorbed the strength
