2、 only different with India's Buddhism thought, but also differently to China's Confucian and Taoism, the Zen was an unique branch of the Chinese Buddhism. It was popular with Chinese peo
3、ple and has biggest affection in this land. The Zen took satori as an aim and manner for essential practices. Because of this unique practicing and enlightening manner, the Zen was beyond thinking and
4、 reasoning, excluding the functions of dictions. Hence the principle of “Not Setting up Scriptures” became an ingrain character of the Zen. At first, this article discussed the source and the meaning of
5、the principle of “not setting up scriptures”, thought its meaning was that people shouldn’t hold to Buddhism’s theory, but not “abandoned the scriptures “. After that, this article analyzed its connotati
6、on through discussing the relationship of scriptures and heart, thought that the reason of this principle how could be engendered was that the Zen thought everything in the world included words were nihilit
7、y. From the linguistic view of the Zen, it should be rebelled with the thinking mode of objectization, which was impressed with language, concept and logic. Therefore, people could realize the truth life by our h
8、eart, conducting the faithful go to a rorty world. The Zen’s another principle of “non-dualsamutaadharma- gate” is one of this exceeding ways. Finally, this article discussed the way of the Zen achieved
9、 the principle of “not setting up scriptures”, like using mallet beating faithful in order to make them realize their heart, and so on. The Zen’s methods seemed very weird, but only through this way, t
