3、contradiction and conflict among Chinese and Western culture in immigration literature before. Relying on her unique writing skill which deeply effects by Chinese and Western culture, Zhangling transfers the theme of her

4、 creations to the generality of Chinese and Western culture. The first part of this thesis has expounded the developing theme of the novels from the longitudinal angle. The writer combines her own experience of studying

5、 abroad and represents the multiple existence predicament of new immigrants at the beginning. And then the writer extricates herself from a plight and reflects the dialogues and exchanges among Chinese and Western cultur

6、e. In the creation of the near future, the writer's novel reflects plural culture especially. The second part of the thesis has analyzed a common theme generally showing in zhangling’s novels in terms of crosswise.

7、It starts with these three respects: regretted love, human nature of the love and the search in the spiritual of the homeland. Therefore, the author makes great efforts to look for the human generality crossing over cult

8、ure, race and region. The third part of the thesis is to explain the Chinese and Western style of creating of the novels from respects such as personage's image-building, the language and tactics of narrating. This

9、style of the creation shows author’s outstanding writing skills which immersed in two kinds of Chinese and Western culture and shown at the same time. On the basis that these three parts described, the thesis thinks th
