4、it is difficult to enter the prime-time for sitcom. The audience like sitcom, but not the crudely, simple and shallow works. They want to watch some new excellent works. On the other hand, American sitcom has been dev

5、eloped in more than 60 years. Some works are more mature and multiple. It is trend and consensus to study more various outstanding art works by comparative. Also, it is our film and television artists' task and goal

6、to strive. This thesis started with the origin and development of Chinese Sitcom and American Sitcom, analyzed the differences and similarities from subject-matter, distinguishing feature and construction between them. F
