8、lsbutdrivenprimarilybyoars.Thelargestgalleyshadasmanyas50oarsmenSincetheyhadrelativelyshallowhullstheywereunstablewhendrivenbysailwhenonroughwater:hencetheywereunsuitablefthevoyagetotheEast.EveniftheyhuggedtheAfricancoas
