3、ies. In recent years, with the strengthening of culture exchanges, studies on translated classic literature have gained new momentum in its development. In the hot-debated area of classic translation, translation of cult

4、ure-loaded terms is still one of the most important issues that any researchers cannot avoid. Therefore, exploring the translation strategies of culture-loaded terms in different versions will facilitate the related tran

5、slation studies and promote cultural exchanges to some extent. Zuiweng Tingji, one of the masterpieces and representatives of Chinese classic prose written by Ouyang Xiu in the Song Dynasty, it possesses high cultural an

6、d aesthetic value in history of Chinese literature, it is also the earliest works of Ouyang Xiu that has been translated and introduced to the western world. However, most of the current studies focus on the aesthetic va

7、lue of Zuiweng Tingji, few explorations study it from the perspective of functional equivalence with the foci of different types of culture-loaded terms. Based on Nida’s definition and categorization of the term “culture

8、”, this thesis classifies culture-loaded terms in Zuiweng Tingji into five categories, namely ecological culture-loaded terms, material culture-loaded terms, social culture-loaded terms, religious culture-loaded terms an

9、d linguistic culture-loaded terms. Then, this thesis tentatively analyzes the translation strategies of culture-loaded terms applied in Yang free translation normally employed in social culture-loaded terms, especially
