3、ma Qian“ through the aspects of characteristics of the opera, characteristics of music creation, and characteristics of singing. This article studied and analyzed the characteristics of opera and music, emphasized on th

4、e characteristics of unifying of dramatic music and musical opera. In addition, article looked at the traits of music to sublimate the relationship between shaping characters and music characteristics. Article contains f

5、our chapters. The first chapter introduced the composers and the background and procedures of writing this opera. The second chapter analyzed the texts of the opera through describing the play plots of it. The plots and

6、characters of “Sima Qian” are vivid. It applied poetic lyrics, allegoric stage designing and intense conflicts in it. The third chapter analyzed the ethnological style of music, diverse of singing format, specific music

7、themes and the combination of the structures of Chinese and Western opera. Moreover, the using of music materials and the dramatic techniques reflect the ethnological style of music in “Sima Qian”. “Sima Qian” applied e

8、nsemble, chorus and recitative to form the diversification of singing format, employed different musical themes to depict main characters, which contain strong and clear expressiveness and Influence. “Sima Qian” is a com

9、plete Chinese style Opera which constituted by combining the Chinese musical materials and western musical structures at the same time. In the last chapter, author provided his opinions and considerations by analyzing t
