2、to some new understanding of these novels, to deepen the research and grasp some fundamental laws in literary activities as a whole. The paper, firstly, gave some brieves on the condition of the acceptance of Avant-ga

3、rde novels among the readers at that time, then done a reaserch on the reader-groups of these works. A review about the roles and the attitudes of readers in the proceed of the shaping, dissemination and acceptance of

4、the avant-garde fictions also was made in this article. Many important theories in Reception-aethetics,such as “Horizon of Expectation”,“Blanks”, provide great convenience when it comes to the analysis of the differen

5、t attitudes of the ordinary readers and the elite readers. In the period of Avant-garde Literature, the ordinary readers are mostly concerned about the social reality, the fate of the country and nation. Vanguards paid

6、 much attention to the creation in their writing, apparently cared little about the readers, curled into a small personal inner space, created a maze in the use of language to obtain the excitement. Readers grows up und

7、er the influence of China's traditional culture have some characteristics, and the vanguard novels precisely in these areas, also pose a fierce challenge on them. From Iser's theory, we can see all kinds of traps

8、 in the texts of avangarde writers, the “blanks”such as language mazes,“meta-narrative” approaches. These blanks should have been actively involved in calling the readers to generate meaning, to give full play to their e

9、nthusiasm, unfortunately they failed to achieve the desired results.General readers are in a stark contrast to the elite readers, the latter show their great talents in reading, in that they have a higher theoretical att

10、ainment and acceptable level, so applying all kinds of theories to read the vanguard novels. Internal crisis in the emergence of market-oriented context of the vanguard ,the choice avant-gardes made and our reflection. L

11、iterary production and consumption of literature as well as market-oriented context of the interaction makes the vanguard writers must make such a choice, either to follow the market under the condition of the laws of

12、literary production, or a fundamental disregard for its existence. Unfortunately, they eventually failed to choose the latter bravely, but adjust the pace of the vanguard, inevitably to the decline.In this dimension we c

13、an see the avant-garde's “Achilles heel”, their experience also inspire our deep reflection on literary education in our country. Avant-garde novels failed to win many ordinary reader's favor, but their importa
