2、er ancestors, the monarch and his subordinates and agnates offer sacrifice to gods. Acoording to the different purposes and significances of the feast, we can specify them into three catogries: fete banquet poetry, po

3、litical banquet poetry and secular banquet poetry. As one of the historical resources of Chinese Classic poetry, the Book of Songs has diverse themes and various forms. However, The Banquet Poetry attracts most of the

4、 renowned scholars’ attentions by its unique viewing angle of description. Following in the predecessors’ steps, this article concerntrates on the Banquet Poetry and tries to trace to the sources by conbining relevant

5、ritual and musical systems, folk theory and archaeological finds. Also, on the basis of systematically sorting out the materials of banquet, this article aims to conduct a preliminary rearsch on ritual and musical syst

6、ems. This article contains four parts: Introduction and Pegging of the Banquet Poetry. First, to summarize the definiton of the Banquet Poetry according to interpretations of etymology. Then, discuss the theoretical b

7、asis and realistic significances of the research on the banquet poetry, integrate relevant academic trends, situation of study and acquired achievements at home and abroad and point out the main research methods and i

8、nnovative ideas this article has applied. Finally, peg by synthesizing documents published and archaeological cources, point out its ceremonial nature and religionary sacrifice significance, reveal the necessity of des

9、cribing the ritual procedures in the Banquet Poetry by combining relevant ritual systems and explain the underlying mental mechanism by using the theory of “Potlatch”. Mainbody, Compilation of banquet poetry in the Bo

10、ok of Songs and The analysis of its ritual and music. First, Specify the Banqet Poetry into religious fete banquet poetry which pays back to the gods and prays for happiness and wealth, political banquet poetry of “ B

11、e close to the clansman, confirm the level Specification SLS and distinguish etiquette patterns” and the secular banquet poetry which outpours heartfelt human emotions. Besides, it also aims to prepare for the coming

12、research by carding the feast materials in the Book of Songs. Then, analyse relevant fete banquet poetry to restor the ritual of “ Treating the dead” in the Early Qin Dynasty from the point of ritual system, and also r

13、epresent concrete procedures of feting at that time by studying relevant political banquet poetry. Analysis of the art of he Book of Songs and its influences. On the point of artistic expression, the banquet poems in

14、the Book of Songs mostly open themes by “mood-starting“ to settle a basis for the development of the whole thesis and then particularily describe the ritual procrdures by using prose methods to highlight the close rela
