5、ect re-search materials, this article analyzes the main types and influencing factors of postgradu-ates’ learning motivation. Deep interview carried on in December 2006, including thefollowing contents as study cognition

6、, learning state, motivation, affecting factors, coun-termeasures, self -conception and so on. As for how to handle collected materials, gen-eric analysis is adopted to summarize and classify systematically some of the v

7、iewpointsand themes presenting in the materials.The research shows that learning motivation of postgraduates has two obvious ten-dencies: external pragmatism and internal self-gratification. The former reflects most ofth

8、e current learning motivation state mainly characterized as career pursuit, economicactuation and diploma acquisition. The latter has been in non- mainstream position alt-hough there are also typical cases of self-esteem
