1、在當(dāng)前全球化語(yǔ)境下,不僅強(qiáng)、弱勢(shì)國(guó)家或文化間的不平衡發(fā)展顯而易見(jiàn),也引發(fā)了世界范圍內(nèi)的文化身份危機(jī)。面對(duì)英美強(qiáng)勢(shì)文化,中國(guó)人的文化身份也正處于十字路口。而對(duì)外宣傳中國(guó)文化、塑造真實(shí)的中國(guó)文化身份無(wú)疑需要通過(guò)翻譯來(lái)進(jìn)行。自20世紀(jì)70年代的“文化轉(zhuǎn)向”以來(lái),翻譯研究也由傳統(tǒng)的語(yǔ)言學(xué)單一視角轉(zhuǎn)向多元視角,其中,后殖民主義翻譯理論是一種不可忽視的翻譯理論研究取向。而文化身份作為后殖民理論研究中的一個(gè)重要概念,也受到了越來(lái)越多翻譯理論研究者的關(guān)

中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)文化典籍中蘊(yùn)含了豐富的中國(guó)文化,是中國(guó)文化身份的重要組成部分,因此通過(guò)典籍英譯能有效建構(gòu)起中國(guó)的文化身份。本論文采取了描述性翻譯研究的方法,以亞瑟·韋利和余國(guó)藩的兩個(gè)不同的西游記譯本作為案例,通過(guò)后殖民翻譯研究的視角,從譯者的整體處理及細(xì)節(jié)操作兩方面對(duì)該案例進(jìn)行了對(duì)比分析,試圖從宗教、社會(huì)和語(yǔ)言三個(gè)方面米探討如何在中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)文化典籍翻譯中成功建構(gòu)中國(guó)文化身份,以及在這一建構(gòu)過(guò)程中需要考慮的因素及可采取的對(duì)策。<
