2、l activities．For this purpose,an experiment with several strategies is taken in the subjects from a common college．Besides the negative emotions like nervousness，shyness and fear,the positiveemotions like excitement and

3、relaxation are also the research objects in thisexperiment．Different instruments are adopted in this research，includingquestionnaire，interview and the teacher's observation.The data collected from theexperiment are anal

4、yzed by SPSS and the results obtained provide responses to theresearch questions．The results show that the students’emotions have correlationswith their level of participation in the oral activities．The strategies adopte

5、d in theclass have some effects on decreasing the negative emotions，especially shyness．Theyhave impact on improving the students’achievement in foreign language learning byincreasing their level ofengagement in speaking
