2、tional psychology. Proactive personality is defined as a disposition of being relatively unconstrained by situational forces, and toward taking action to influence one's environment. Through some standard research me

3、thods such as literature review and survey investigation with workers from enterprises in China, the construct dimension of proactive personality and its consequences has been studied. Such statistics as exploratory fact

4、or analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, regression analysis, and analysis of variance were applied for the data analysis. The conclusions were drawn as following: Firstly, proactive personality scale is comprised of t

5、wo dimensions, namely Personal Initiative, and Hardiness. They have something different with west employees. Secondly, this study found proactive personality to have psychological and attitudinal consequences for employe

6、es in the form of work engagement, self-rating contexual performance, and turnover intention.Furthermore, different dimension of proactive personality have effect on these consequences differently. Thirdly,relationship p

7、erceived organizational support was found to significantly moderate between proactive personality and its consequences such as work engagem contexual performance, and turnover intention respectively. Fourthly, Sign

8、ificant differences of proactive personality were found comparing the staff with different gender ,hierarchical level, educational level, and ownership of enterprises. However, no significant differences were found in th

9、e employees' proactive personality among staff with different job position and age. Current limitations and future research orientation were also discussed at the end of the dissertation. Key words: knowledge worker,
