3、language and the lack of letter symbols to recordit, Tuvan and the Tuva culture are not well protected, part of which have disappeared. In light of that,the study and protection of Tuvan and its culture is of extreme urg

4、ency and necessity.Living in China’s multiethnic family, it is undoubted that the language used by Tuvinians isaffected more or less by other languages. As the ecological tourism around Tuvan villages becomesincreasingly

5、 popular, it is hard for Tuvan to resist the ever-lasting influence from Chinese. This paperis a monographic study on the words borrowed by this Turkic language from Chinese. During a fieldinvestigation, the Hemu village

6、 and the Kanas village inhabited by Tuvinians were interviewed, bystanding on the shoulder of previous research, to investigate the use and borrowing of Chinese wordsin Tuvan.Compared with loanwords from other languages,

7、 there are a very limited number of Chineseloanwords in Tuvan and available relevant data. Overcoming the above unfavorable factors andrelying on two provincial and ministerial projects, the author with a research group

8、visited andconducted a wide survey on Tuvan settlements in person, during which, the author gained a lot offirsthand materials and met an acknowledged Tuvan linguist. In addition to references of previousresearch, the va

9、rious analyses of Chinese loanwords in Tuvan explained in this paper would not havebeen possible without these firsthand materials and the help from Tuvan linguists.Through the study on Chinese loanwords in Tuvan, this p

10、aper further illustrates thecommunication between Tuvan and Chines as well as the degree of influence from Chinese. Thispaper can accumulate certain reference for related Tuvan research and provide some corpus for thepre
