1、Along with the rapid development of international trade andeconomic globalization， the intensification of international financialcooperation becomes increasingly important． In this context， financialterminology translati

2、on is gaining greater and greater importance．Although remarkable academic research has been organized on financialtranslation in recent years， results are ineffective and inadequate，especially in the study of financial t

3、erminology translation． Financialterminology translation is not the simple linguistic ST—to—TT transfer， buta painstaking process， involving various academic fields such aslinguistics， marketing strategy， psychology， and

4、 culture etc．， thereforedemanding a systematic research．
　　 Functionalist approach to translation is characterized by itstarget—oriented mode of translation． This theory emphasizes thefunctionality of the target text

5、 in the target culture． According to thetheory， the translators are encouraged to make full use of various sourcesof information and they are entitled to choose whatever translationstrategies they think appropriate to ac

6、hieving the expected functions oftranslation assignments． Functionalist approach to translation has openedup a new perspective to translation study． The major contribution offunctionalist approach to translation is that

7、it enriches the theory oftranslation criterion through the introduction of the function and thepurpose of the target text as the decisive criterion of all translations．

8、 nature， the presentresearch is to study financial terminology translation in the light ofSkopstheorie． Based on Skopstheorie， this thesis argues that translationmethods of financial terminology are determined purposeful

9、ly by atranslator and the process of financial terminology translation is complexand involves varieties． Therefore， financial terminology translation isstudied in a perspective of Skopotheories． In terms of functionalist

10、translation theories， an ideal TT of financial terminology will have tofunction as an acceptable financial terminology in the TT culture and tofacilitate marketing of related meanings． Based on analyses of examplesof fin

11、ancial terminology selected by the present author's own source， thisstudy tries to probe into financial terminology translation． By so doing， itis hoped that the problems on financial terminology translation will besolve

12、d with advised translation methods． The factors and principles willbe proposed as guideline for financial terminology translation and shouldbe followed during translating financial terminology．

13、analysis， the conclusion arrives that financialterminology translation as a form of practical translation， has distinctivefeatures． It is complex and multi—disciplinary and therefore should beanalyzed from various aspect
