4、on in the world. Thus how tointroduce China’s tourism spots and tourism culture to foreign tourists becomes thefocus of attention. The translation of tourism texts is not only related to the exchangeof two languages, but

5、 also a cross-cultural communication. Therefore, a goodtranslation of tourism texts not only can properly express the complicated meaning ofculture to attract foreign tourists, but also can promote the development of loc

6、altourism industry.According to the Adaptation Theory proposed by Jef Verschueren, the languageuse is a process of making choice. The three natural features of language: variability,negotiability and adaptability and fou

7、r angles for language adaptability: the contextualcorrelates of adaptability, the structural objects of adaptability, the dynamics ofadaptability and the salience of the adaptation processes make it possible to makecorre

8、ct choice. These four angles are used to analyze language from four differentperspectives. In the view of Verschueren, structure and context constitute the contentsof adaptability.This thesis is a practice report on tran

9、slation of tourism texts from theperspective of Adaptation Theory. Under the perspective of Adaptation Theory, thisreport has chosen problems that occurred during the process of the translation oftourism texts of eleven

10、representative spots in China from The Top 100 BeautifulPlaces in China as cases to analyze, including Palace Museum of Beijing, HukouWaterfall, Lijiang River, Mount Taishan, Loess Plateau, Shangrila, Imperial Tombs ofMi

11、ng and Qing Dynasties, Zhou Town, Grand Canal, Xishuangbanna and ConfucianTemple, Kong Family Mansion and Cemetery of Confucius and His Descendants, andhas proposed some strategies. This report can be divided into five p
