1、隨著跨文化交際活動的日益頻繁，幽默翻譯開始引起翻譯家的重視,但目前幽默翻譯研究仍然處于翻譯領域的邊緣地帶，且主要集中于功能翻譯理論角度，從關聯(lián)翻譯理論角度對幽默翻譯的研究尚少。
Gutt將Sperber和Wilson的關聯(lián)理論應用于翻譯領域，形成了關聯(lián)翻譯理論。關聯(lián)翻譯理論指出翻譯語言的釋義性應用，追求最佳關聯(lián)，從而使譯文讀者以最小的努力獲得最充分的語境效果?；谇叭说难芯?，本文將以美國情景喜劇《摩登家庭》中的幽默為研究對象，
2、對不同類型的幽默進行分類、梳理和概括。在關聯(lián)翻譯理論的指導下，通過定性及定量分析《摩登家庭》中幽默字幕翻譯，來探索不同類型言語幽默的翻譯策略,爭取在目的語讀者中最大效度的還原源語幽默在源語讀者中產生的幽默效果。
本文將《摩登家庭》中的幽默分為三大類：大眾幽默、文化特色幽默及語言特色幽默。不同類型的幽默對應不同的翻譯方法。大眾幽默的翻譯方法包括直譯法，文化特色幽默及語言特色幽默的翻譯方法包括替代法、增補法、類比翻譯法及創(chuàng)作法。在
